About HARDCODE Games

Who Are We?

Our founder has been a tabletop games enthusiast for decades, owning, playing, and designing board games. With experience taking a board game concept from paper to play, he possesses extensive knowledge in board game design. His day job for many years was in the blockchain space, and he has long wanted to marry the two concepts. After researching the current landscape, it's clear that we need to bring the focus back to tabletop fundamentals, emphasizing the player's experience.

We aim to combine board game mechanics with the reach and decentralization of web3 to create a player-first, narrative experience unlike anything currently offered.

Why Are We Different?

To be blunt, many blockchain games are scams. There. We said it.

In our research, we found that most are merely ways to peddle worthless NFTs, tokens, and loot boxes. Worse, the track record for these games being released is abysmal, with less than 5% ever seeing the light of day after funding.

Are these projects too ambitious? No. We believe they are designed to fail, with no real attention given to implementation, just lies and false promises. If you run a project that doesn't fall into these traps, we tip our hat to you and strive to uphold the same code of conduct.

HARDCODE Games was created to deliver products, not promises. Our team is built to deliver games, not scams. Our designs are PLAYER FIRST, meaning that it’s the players who will reap the rewards from playing, not the marketers, influencers, or developers.

Our Design Approach

Players First

Our games are designed for players who thrive on competition and victory, offering real cash prizes that elevate the gaming experience beyond virtual achievements. Players can test their skills and strategies in pursuit of meaningful financial gains.

Winners and Losers

Like any good board game, there are winners and losers. Winners should win, and losers should have a good time playing. If they enjoy the game, they'll play again. Too many designers in this space fall into the trap of “everyone's a winner” and tout some “play to earn” concept where players supposedly earn something of “value.” From our experience, the only ones earning in "play to earn" are the developers.

All Games Must End

Board games are a shared experience between a group of people, and when that experience ends, hopefully, everyone has had a good time. Each playthrough is a new and unique experience, offering all players a chance at victory.

Games that do not end rely on hamster wheel mechanics and false promises to keep players engaged. Those are not the games we will build. We are creating experiences that start and end with a narrative that is engaging for all players.

Real Money

No one goes to a casino hoping to walk out with a $500 picture of money. They want money. We’re not messing around with NFTs, useless tokens, or complicated DeFi mechanics. You put money in, you take part in the game and engage with the community. If you’re a lucky winner, you take home the rewards you deserve. It's just that simple.

Community

The board game community is the best—smart, funny, intelligent, and caring people from all walks of life. Truly some of humanity's best individuals. It's our direct goal to foster the same type of community in the web3 space. It’s important that we have a place to meet and talk about games that are currently running, how to make them better, and grow new ideas.

We hope you join us on our journey and try out what we have to offer!
